Performing a Speed Test
Is your internet running slowly? Doing a speed test can help you determine approximately what speeds you are getting compared to the speed of your connection. A speed test can be performed here: myspeed.gorge.net Connection speeds are based on a variety of conditions. Download speeds will be up to 15% slower due to network requirements and may vary for reasons such as customer location, websites accessed, Internet congestion and customer equipment. Operating multiple devices using a single connection will also have significant impact on connection speeds. For example, our basic connection speed is a 1.5 Mbps connection. You can expect to get roughly 1.1 -1.2 Mbps (1100-1200 kbps) download speed and 0.2-0.3 Mbps (200-300 kbps) upload speed. Note: This speed can vary according to time of day.
When you are doing a speed test make sure that no other computers, devices, or programs on your computer are using the internet. Any traffic on your network will significantly impact the reliability of the result. If your results are consistently lower than your connection’s rated speed, call our Technical Support line or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with a link to or screenshot of your speed test results.
